Dr Ifeanyi Nnaji Nwoko - GP

Dr Ifeanyi Nnaji Nwoko, or Nnaji as he likes to be known, has been the GP at Southern Cross General Practice since January 2018.

 

Dr Nwoko’s vast experience incorporates general practice and orthopaedics after having worked in the UK. Further experience in emergency medicine, general medicine, along with skin health compliments his proficiency. Dr Nwoko has acquired a great deal of experience in the Australian healthcare system having worked in Albany hospital, Narrogin hospital and John Parry Medical Centre in Narrogin for the total of six years.

 

Dr Nwoko is an experienced GP with special interest in chronic disease management, emergency medicine, dermatology (skin cancer medicine), and women’s health.

 

He has completed a certificate course in skin cancer medicine (University of Queensland) and a Doctor’s certificate in Women’s Health. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh, UK), and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

 

His family resides in Southern Cross  with his children going to school in Perth.

Emma Warren – Registered Nurse

My name is Emma Warren. I’m a registered nurse that has worked in primary health care for 10years. I live locally in Southern Cross with my husband and 3 children. I have a strong passion for preventative health care. I enjoy health education and promotion. I particularly enjoy working in partnership with patients to empower them to take control and manage their own health. I am excited to be a new member at Southern Cross General Practice and look forward to meeting more of the community.

Onyi Nwoko – Registered Nurse

Onyi is delighted to join the practice as a registered nurse on part-time basis, with 5 years of Australian nursing experience working at Wagin, Narrogin and Perth. She has a passion for mental health and all aspects of general nursing including chronic disease management, wound care and immunisation..

Receptionists

These ladies offer many years’ experience in assisting you in booking an appointment, helping you fill out complicated paperwork, and always providing a friendly voice when you call the practice.

Our receptionists are accredited to provide Drug and Alcohol urine screening according to Australian Standards.

Southern Cross General Practice aims to provide a high quality of medical care in a conscientious and cheerful environment. Acute healthcare issues and chronic disease management is provided with a balanced and holistic approach, furthermore, with attention paid to preventative medicine and lifestyle issues. We endeavour to treat the whole person, giving you the necessary advice and information so that informed decisions about management of your healthcare issues can be made. Each Doctor practicing within the practice is free to act autonomously in decisions affecting your clinical care. The Practice prides itself on providing a friendly, non-threatening, caring and supportive environment at the same time maintaining high professional and clinical standards. All staff members strive to be non-judgmental, particularly with regard to race, religion, gender, and the health problem with which people present. Confidentiality, cultural awareness and respect is upmost when our staff care for our patients.

THE PRACTICE

Pathology, Audiology and Spirometer

 

This practice is equipped with single use instruments for performing minor "lumps and bumps" procedures. There are Spirometry, Audiometry and ECG facilities where trained staff can accommodate and perform relevant services. We have Blood Testing pathology collection on site.

Privacy

 

Medical records are confidential documents and a matter between the doctor and patient alone. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised staff members. No results or health information will be given to a third party or anyone else without your prior written consent.

Our practice conforms with the "Privacy Policy" (Privacy Act 1988) which is in place with regard to the confidentiality of all patient information and operates strictly in accordance with this act.

​

You may have access to your health record however, our policy is that your records are transferred to another GP and will incur a cost.

Our Mission is to provide the highest standard of patient care whilst incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness. Furthermore, including physical, mental and emotional support to all. We are committed to promoting health, well-being and disease prevention to all patients. Disabled Facilities

This practice accommodates patients who have disabilities with wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities are available. Friendly staff are always available for any assistance you may require.

Health Promotions

​

The practice runs monthly health promotions, from the very soon to be influenza vaccination program to commence mid-March, diabetes prevention, to asthma prevention and education month. Come in and see our practice notice board’s colourful displays.

Telephone access, Communication & Your rights / complaints

The doctor may be contacted during normal surgery hours. However, if the doctor is in consultation, a message will be taken and you will be advised by reception staff when the doctor is able to return your call. Your call will always be put through to the doctor in the case of an emergency.

Management of your health information / Third party consent

You can access your health information by completing a request form, please ask our receptionist for further information. At times when a third party ie: student doctor in consultation, we shall ask your permission or consent for attendance.
